Professor position in Experimental Physics

The Faculty of Science of the University of Fribourg / Switzerland
and the Department of Physics invite applications for a

tenured position of a Professor in optical physics, ultrafast science or spectroscopy

Qualified applicants must have an outstanding track record of successful independent research in
the field of steady state or ultrafast spectroscopy of quantum systems or materials.
Potential synergies with the NCCR research Bioinspired Materials would be advantageous.
The successful candidate will develop an internationally recognized competitive research
program sustained by external funding. Teaching experience at university level is expected.

The Department of Physics of Fribourg University presently houses five experimental and five theoretical research groups. Experimental research is performed in the domains of Laser Spectroscopy, X-ray Spectroscopy, Soft Matter and Photonics,Magnetism & Superconductivity and Electron Spectroscopy. Theoretical research is focused on Computational Physics, Soft Matter, Interdisciplinary Physics, Hard Condensed Matter and Quantum Dynamics.
