PhD studies

To be admitted to the PhD program (duration: 3-4 years), the student must have been awarded a master degree of science or an equivalent qualification recognized by the University of Fribourg.

First, the candidate must contact a research group (experimental or theoretical physics) who would be interested to his candidature and who is willing to supervise his thesis work.  Then, he can follow the application procedure.

PhD students are strongly encouraged to enlarge their knowledge by taking third-cycle courses at the "Troisième cycle de la physique en Suisses romande" generally held at the EPFL in Lausanne.
